Daily edition
Today's edition will appear here, organized by pillar: the Earth Disaster Cycle, ECDO Theory and Ancient Civilizations.
Earth Disaster Cycle (EDC)
Ben Davidson, founder of Suspicious0bservers and Space Weather News, argues that Earth passes through a recurring catastrophe cycle of about 12,000 years, with a half-cycle near 6,000. In his model a geomagnetic excursion and a solar outburst he calls a "micronova" coincide, and the crust shifts over the mantle.
Today's Space Weather News summary, Galactic Current Sheet news and the state of the Sun will appear here.
ECDO Theory
Roger Cunningham, who writes as The Ethical Skeptic, proposes the Exothermic Core-Mantle Decoupling Dzhanibekov Oscillation (ECDO) Theory. Heat at the core-mantle boundary lets the mantle and crust slip relative to the core, and the planet's shell tips roughly 104 degrees in a rapid turn. His book is Inversion: ECDO Theory (2026).
Ancient Civilizations
Researchers including Graham Hancock and Randall Carlson argue that advanced cultures existed before the end of the last Ice Age and were erased by repeating catastrophes. This pillar follows their work and that of other researchers on X, alongside new archaeology on very old sites, drowned landscapes and records of sudden change.
Today's posts from the researchers followed on X will appear here.

Featured Video
The following video is an attempt to explain and synthesize the core components of the Earth Disaster Cycle (EDC) and ECDO Theory. Since Ben Davidson and Roger Cunningham do not agree with one another on everything presented in this video, the viewer is encouraged to study each scenario for themselves and draw their own conclusions. This video was created by David Sunfellow and reflects his best understanding of how Davidson and Cunningham's scenarios COULD work together.

Field Glossary
- Geomagnetic excursion
- A short, large swing in Earth's magnetic field that stops short of a full reversal. The best known, the Laschamp excursion, happened about 41,000 years ago.
- Dzhanibekov effect
- The flip a spinning object makes around its intermediate axis, filmed by cosmonaut Vladimir Dzhanibekov in 1985. ECDO borrows the name for its proposed tipping of Earth.
- Kp index
- A 0 to 9 scale of global geomagnetic disturbance. Kp 5 and above counts as a geomagnetic storm (G1 to G5).
- Schumann resonance
- Very low-frequency electromagnetic waves ringing in the cavity between the ground and the ionosphere, with a base tone near 7.83 Hz. The Tomsk observatory in Russia publishes a widely watched chart.
- Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC)
- The system of Atlantic currents, including the Gulf Stream, that carries warm surface water north and returns cold, deep water south. Studies suggest it has weakened, and scientists debate whether it could approach a tipping point.
- Southern Meridional Overturning Circulation (SMOC)
- The overturning of the Southern Ocean around Antarctica, where cold, dense water sinks and spreads north along the sea floor while deep water rises to replace it. Studies suggest Antarctic meltwater is slowing it.
- South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA)
- A broad zone of weak magnetic field over South America and the South Atlantic, watched by ESA's Swarm satellites.
- Younger Dryas
- A sudden return to near-glacial cold about 12,900 to 11,700 years ago. A comet impact as its cause is debated.
- Galactic Current Sheet (GCS)
- In Ben Davidson's model, a sheet of electric current in the galaxy that the solar system periodically crosses, stressing the Sun, the planets and Earth's magnetic field. Mainstream science describes a smaller cousin, the heliospheric current sheet, which spirals out from the Sun.
- Flare classes
- Solar flares are ranked B, C, M and X by X-ray brightness, each step ten times stronger than the one before.
How This Digest Is Made
Pole Shift News was created by David Sunfellow (@sunfellow on X), who directs its focus and controls its content: which sections appear, which sources and researchers are followed, and how each topic is covered.
Under his direction, each morning Claude summarizes the latest Space Weather News episode and the studies it cites, gathers Galactic Current Sheet and solar news, and checks each ECDO monitoring point against official data from NOAA, USGS, ESA and Copernicus. Every item links to its source.
Claims are attributed to the person making them. Items from peer-reviewed or agency science carry a "Mainstream science" tag, so you can tell research claims and measured data apart at a glance.
Posts on X are often missing from search results, so a quiet day for a pillar can mean the posts weren't findable. Each pillar says so when that happens.
